Culture: Cuba to Host Meeting of Ballet Academies.
Havana.- The largest Antillean Island will host the 10th International Meeting of Ballet Academies this month, with the participation of delegates from a dozen countries.
According to sources from the organizing committee, 150 experts, professors,
students and representatives of foreign ballet academies will attend the forum.
Among this year's participants are representatives of the Annarella Academy
(Brazil), INCOBALLET (Colombia), the National Dance School (Guatemala), and
students from Costa Rica, Venezuela, the Dominican Republic, India and Spain.
Mexico will bring the largest delegation, including representatives of the
Marcela Corona Academy, Puebla's Ballet Concierto Academy and the University
of Puebla.
The meeting's program will include classes on teaching methodology by Drs.
Fernando Alonso, Osvaldo Beiro and Ramona de Saa.
Other activities include lectures on the dance market in the 21st century,
and scenic interpretation from the expression of gestures and creativity.
