SAOR, is an initiative provided by specialists of ? Hermanos Sa?z? university of Pinar del R?o. However it can apply to different type of educational institutions in the same field with the purpose of increasing their scientific research activities for professionals and students.

A database structure of flowers and phenological parameters required are registered under the new computer programme. In addition, it speeds up access to information, improves analysis quality to be executed and favors transmission of duly ordered contents.

It provides a window background with graphic interface for users being similar to that of Windows, what makes it more attractive and flexible to investigators. Likewise it has a powerful security method to protect data plus some other computing tools.

SAOR is mostly applied to scientific works performed at this educational center located in the surrounding areas of Soroa and founded by mid-XXth century.

Currently, the botanic garden has got 25 000 plus-plants and about 700 species of flowers. Chocolate-aroma Encyclia paoenicia and the prosthechea cochleata are two of most bizarre species found in Greece as early as 370 and 285 years B.C.
